Dear Parents,
Thank you so very much for allowing your children to attend Keystone Christian Academy this year. It is my privilege to be their teacher. I look forward to this opportunity to assist you with their education, to see them grow both academically and spiritually, and to serve both them and our Lord Jesus Christ. I am praying that this will be a terrific year for all of us and that the Lord will be honored.

Daily Classroom Reminders: *Please check you child’s assignment book for updates.
  • Mondays – Reading Chart and Weekly Folders due with signatures; book reports, Spanish
  • Tuesdays -
  • Wednesdays – Music Class, Devotion updates, Chapel (when there is no Friday school)
  • Thursdays – Trial Spelling Test (grades of 95% are exempt from Friday’s test)
  • Fridays – Spelling & Verses Tests, Chapel, Experiments, Physical Education (clothes)

Snack Time:
  • Send only one food item
  • Foods must be easy to eat and with no mess for your child, his desk, or schoolbooks
  • Nutritious suggestions include snack crackers, dried fruit, pretzels, trail mix, cereals, nuts, or granola bars
  • These are not permitted due to messiness: candy, chips, beverages, or yogurt
*Please note: Snacks are eaten while completing class assignments.

General Class Rules:
  • Be seated, doing your best; always pleasing God.
  • Be quiet, without disturbing or communicating with others. *Raise your hand and wait for permission to speak.
  • Be neat at your desk, crate, and coat rack; always have your supplies ready.
  • Be obedient and always respectful to authority.
  • Be diligent, responsible, and prepared in all your study habits. *Do your best and always please God. *Late assignments lower grades. *A parent’s signature is required on the daily assignment book and weekly test folder.

Notes for Parents:
  • Nightly homework: This includes math drills until requirements are completed.
  • End of the Month: Devotions and book reports are due (see assignment book for dates).
  • Make-up Work for Absence: This is one day to make-up work for each day missed.
  • Personal Days: These are to be done in advance.
  • Short Weeks: Spelling and verses are given the last day of the week. Trial tests are not always given.
  • Spring into Action and Extra Practice for English are completed in class only (graded).
  • Computer: All writing projects are to be written, typed, corrected, and completed during school hours on class computers. (Before/after class is with the teacher’s permission.)

Leaving School: 9:30 AM until 2:45 PM

Needed: Packed lunch, including drinks and snacks

Clothing: KCA Official PE shirt and long, black slacks; gym shoes; possible jacket

Parents’ Help Needed:
  • Have a specific time and place each evening when homework in done.
  • Assist with homework without giving answers.
  • Check homework nightly for completion only. It is your child’s responsibility to do the work.
  • Prepare the night before: Have your child place all books, notebooks, and folders in book bag.
  • Discuss errors when tests and quizzes are returned for your signature.
  • Plan a nighttime routine for going to bed. Be consistent; let them get plenty of rest.
  • Minimize conflict on the way to school. Settle family issues after school is over.
  • Pray for our class throughout the year.
